The Sunday Post (#32) and Showcase Sunday (#18)

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimba the Caffeinated Book Reviewer, and Showcase Sunday is hosted by Books, Biscuits and Tea and inspired by Pop Culture Junkie and the Story Siren. They’re a chance to share news, a post to recap the past week on your blog, highlight our newest books and see what everyone else received for review, borrowed from libraries, or bought.

Happy new year everyone. I hope you had a pleasant festive period and managed to get lots of reading done. It’s been a while since I did one of these, so here are a few links to what’s been happening on my blog since then:

Added to my shelves

Not a whole lot, but since I’m having a clear out that’s a good thing.

I did get sent this film tie-in edition of The Wolf of Wall Street by Jordan Belfort. I won’t have time to read it before I see the film (on Tuesday) but it looks good. Thanks Hodder!

Looks like you had a good week. I NEED to do a book purge. I've already got two stacks of books I'm okay with passing on to someone else, but I just haven't made myself go through with it. Hope you have a great upcoming week!

  3. I watched a great video (I'll find the link and post it) about book purges, and it inspired me to start letting go of some books.

  4. I heard a lot of praise for the movie and I must admit the trailer for the movie wasn't too bad. I think I'll wait for DVD version though. 🙂

  9. I hear Wolf on Wallstreet (the book) is fantastic. I hadn't heard of it before the movie…but once the movie was being made I began to hear about the book everywhere. I'll be interested to see what you think about it.

  10. I've heard a few real-life stories a bit like Jordan Belfort's, you see them in the news all the time, but I've never read a book by any of these trader types. I'll be sure to let you know what I think.

Happy New Year! Liked your wishlist for 2014, I'm also looking forward to the Captain America movie and Veronica Mars might be good too. And yeah I'm still irritated they're making 3 movies out of the Hobbit, but I still want to see the second one here one of these days.

    Have a great week.

  14. Thanks! I don't think there was a good reason to split The Hobbit up so much, it's a bit indulgent I feel. Still, I do love that world.

    Happy new year!
